I hope everyone has a safe and super fun Halloween weekend! (And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my lovely cousin Maritza who is leaving India and en route to another exotic country during her Semester at Sea!)

My ONE year old.
Yesterday was Olivia's first birthday. A culminating and bittersweet day in any mother's life. The sweet little immobile baby becomes an entire 12 month young toddler. I played over in my head the events of yesterday's date one year ago. The sweetness, fatigue, and soreness that any woman who just brought a child into the world feels. Cuddling in the hospital bed, in pajamas because I refused their hideous gowns, trying to nurse and love this tiny stranger.
Obviously, she has changed a lot from her days of being a human tamale, safely burritoed in a blankie and contently sleeping most of the day. Now she is a rambunctious, spunky, and independent mini girl. Most of our days are now spent chasing her around and trying to nourish that brilliant and growing little mind. Olivia decided to honor her first year of existence by taking her first real steps just a few days before October 27th. Now her mobility has increased and her adventurous side is growing also!
This year has been so full of love, newness, change, a lack of sleep, and most importantly one of the most special challenges any of us could endeavor: Parenthood.

Remember me?
I just realized I pretty much have not blogged the whole month of October. It is not because there has not been much going on, on the contrary, it's been an insanely busy month!
First, on October 8th, we got married.
It was perfect. Simple, small, and so intimate. A wonderful collaboration of the love and creativity of our family and friends. The entire day was a tribute to not only the devotion between my husband and I, but also the combined dynamic of all the phenomenal people we have in our life. We are so blessed and thankful. I would not change anything... except for maybe the blisters I got from dancing so much.
Then, Todd and I took a short but sweet honeymoon road trip from San Diego to Bishop to Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite National Park and then San Francisco. It was so fun to just get on the road together like we have done many times before but this time as a married couple. Mr. and Mrs.
